Why getting involved in an organization is more important than a number of service hours.
Whatever your reasons for looking for places to volunteer, it’s important to note that getting involved in an organization is far more important than the number of service hours you have. Ideally, you will have achieved a desired amount of service hours earned from the same few organizations. While it is always good to serve in any capacity, finding something you’re passionate about will leave a much more lasting impact on yourself and the community you are serving. The best type of volunteer work you could put on a resume is something that you love doing. Something that allows you to serve your community through something you are passionate about. Something you could write about in an essay. Maybe you like animals, or have a way with children, or the elderly. Maybe you like dance, or music, or sports. Whatever your interests are, there is guaranteed to be a non-profit organization that can help YOU help OTHERS. And if you can’t find one, contact us or start your own!
